Snow Removal

Snow removal is about one thing: showing up. When the storm hits at 2am, you need someone who'll be there before you leave for work — not someone who'll get to it next Tuesday after they finish their backed-up route. Cutter Bandits runs a dedicated winter schedule for Central NJ properties. Seasonal contracts for predictable coverage, per-storm pricing for occasional needs, and the kind of operational discipline that means you actually get out of your driveway in the morning.

Why Snow Removal Matters

NJ winter weather is unpredictable — some years we get two storms, some years we get fifteen. Some years it's all heavy wet snow that breaks blowers, some years it's dry powder that's easy to handle. A lot of homeowners try to handle it themselves until mid-January, then scramble to find someone when the back starts hurting, the blower breaks, or a serious storm reveals that they're not as young as they used to be. By that point, every reliable snow service is fully booked and the only options left are the people who couldn't sell out their schedule.

Signing a seasonal contract in October or November means you're on the schedule, priced in, and covered no matter what kind of winter we get. If we get two storms, you paid for two storms. If we get fifteen, you paid for fifteen at the same rate. The math works out for both sides — the contract gives us predictable winter income and gives you predictable winter coverage. Per-storm billing works for lighter users who just want a backup option for the rare big storm, but seasonal customers always get priority. When a 14-inch storm hits and we're routing through 80 properties, our seasonal customers get cleared first. Per-storm folks come after, sometimes hours later.

What's Included

Driveway ClearingFull driveway cleared with commercial snow blower or plow depending on snow depth and property layout. Edges and corners get hand attention.
Walkway & Entry PathsFront walkway, side entries, mailbox access, and any path the homeowner regularly uses — all cleared so you can walk safely.
Pre-Work ServiceMost properties cleared before 7am so you can get out for work or school. Storms that start overnight get priority morning routing.
Multiple Passes for Big StormsBig storms get return visits until snowfall stops — not one pass and done. You're never going to find a foot-deep snow situation when we said we'd cleared you.
Salt & Ice-Melt (Optional)Add-on salting for walkways and high-traffic hardscape. Pet-safe ice-melt options available for households with dogs.
Storm Plan in AdvanceWe text or email the night before a forecast storm so you know exactly when to expect us. No guessing, no calling at 6am asking where we are.
Long-Driveway CapabilityQuarter-mile rural driveways are a specialty (especially in Colts Neck, Howell, Jackson). We have the equipment for the runs.
Rapid Storm ResponseSeasonal contract customers get top-of-route priority. No scrambling for service after the forecast changes mid-week.

Our Process

Snow removal operates on a strict storm-response protocol. The night before a forecast storm, our route managers confirm crews, equipment, and routing. Customers get a heads-up text/email with expected service window. When snow starts, monitoring begins; at the trigger depth (typically 2 inches for seasonal customers, 3 inches for per-storm), routes activate. Most properties are first-cleared between 5am and 7am so morning commuters can get out. For storms that continue past first-pass, we do return visits as needed until snowfall stops. Final cleanup pass after the storm ends to handle drifting and plow-pile cleanup at driveway aprons. Salt application is added on at customer request.

Pricing & What to Expect

Snow removal pricing has two main models. Seasonal contracts are priced based on driveway size and walkway coverage — most quarter-acre Central NJ residential properties fall in the $400-$800 per season range, larger driveways scale up. The contract covers all storms during the winter season at that flat rate. Per-storm pricing typically runs $60-$150 per visit depending on snow depth and property size, with priority going to seasonal contract holders. Salt application is $25-$75 per application as add-on. Bundle pricing if combined with other lawn services.
